Cookie Sheet Apple Pie

Pre-heat oven: 400 F

Ingredients
- dough -
3 3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 trsp. salt
3/4 cup shortening
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/3 cup milk
alternately:  use Pillsbury Pie Crust 2 boxes - one for top, one for bottom

- filling -
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg (we didn't put in)
1 cup crushed Corn Flakes (we didn't use)
butter pats (we used instead of cornflakes)
8 cups peeled / sliced apples
- topping -
egg white before baking on
confectioners glaze after cools (we did not part of original recipe - ingredients not listed here)


Directions
In bowl combine, flour and salt
Cut in Shortening
Add eggs and milk
Mix to form dough and chill 20 minutes
Divide dough in half
Roll 1/2 of dough to fit 15 x 10 x 1 greased pan
Arrange apples over crust
Combine sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if used)
Dot with butter (if used)
Sprinkle over apples
Roll remaining dough to fit top of pan and place over apples
Seal edges
Cut slits in top
Brush with egg white
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes
Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 15-30 minutes or until golden

Yield: 16-20 servings
